Sana Cissokho is a Senegalese kora virtuoso whose mastery transcends boundaries. His upbringing in a musical family shaped his extraordinary skills.

Hailing from Casamance, in the South of Senegal, Cissokho was born into a Mandinka Diali (or griot) family, where the kora was an integral element to his upbringing. Surrounded by a household of renowned musicians, he was nurtured in the art of storytelling and kora mastery by his parents, Lamine Sissoko and Ndeye Diongtang Diabaté, and his older siblings, Mamadou Sissoko and Atab Cissokho.

Descended from a lineage of legendary kora masters, Cissokho embodies the instrument’s profound significance in his heritage, carrying forward the rich tradition of Mandé music.

His sophisticated repertoire, captivating stage presence, and soulful kora playing have garnered him international acclaim. By sharing his unique combination of traditional and contemporary sounds, he captivates audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds.
